The details

A rotating textured lens in front of an LED throws a caustic pattern that reads convincingly as light reflecting off water. The scale depends entirely on distance: close to a wall it is a tight bright pattern, further back it covers a ceiling softly. Worth experimenting with placement before deciding where it lives.

Styling it

Point it at a plain pale surface — texture and pattern on the wall break the effect. Best with every other light off. Bedrooms and bathrooms are where it earns its keep.
