What is Japandi decor?
Japandi decor combines Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth. It favours natural materials such as oak, ceramic and linen, a muted low-contrast palette of creams, sands and soft greens, and deliberately empty space. The result is calmer than pure Scandinavian style and warmer than traditional Japanese interiors.
How do I style a shelf without it looking cluttered?
Use three objects at different heights and vary them by at least 4 cm — say 8 cm, 12 cm and 16 cm. Three pieces all near the same height read as a row rather than an arrangement. Clutter comes from objects competing at the same scale, not from the number of objects.
Are resin pieces safe near a lit candle?
Keep cast resin at least 15 cm from an open flame. Resin softens around 60 °C, well below the temperature at the rim of a burning candle, so a figure placed directly beside a flame can warp over time. Ceramic, glass, stone and metal are all safe at candle temperatures.
How does a backflow incense burner work?
Backflow cones have a hollow channel down the middle. The smoke they produce is cooler and denser than air, so instead of rising it sinks through the channel and pours down the burner like water. It needs a still room — an open window or a fan will break the fall.
