The details
The back is curved rather than square, which is a bandsaw cut followed by a lot of sanding and is the reason the piece costs what it does — a square box is one pass. Black walnut is dark right through rather than stained, so the colour will not sand off at the corner where your hand goes.
Styling it
Pairs with the card holder rather than competing with it: one stands cards up, this one lays them down.
