The details

The case is turned from a single piece of beech rather than assembled from a ring and a back, so the grain runs continuously round the rim. The movement is a continuous sweep rather than a stepping one, which means no tick — the reason to care is that a bedside or a quiet study is exactly where a ticking clock becomes unbearable.

Styling it
