The details

The globe is thrown and glazed in a single saturated colour with no pattern, which is what lets the shape do the work. It sits in the stand rather than being fixed to it, so the vessel can be lifted out to fill and the stand can hold a different one later. The glaze pools very slightly at the base of the curve — that variation is the mark of a dipped glaze, not a fault.

Styling it

Colour like this wants space around it. One globe on an otherwise bare shelf will hold a room better than three in a row. It takes a single stem or a short clipped bunch; anything tall unbalances the stand.
