The details
A reactive glaze moves in the kiln — it thins over the raised rim and pools where the wall curves in, so the colour is never flat and never twice the same. The body is left slightly coarse under the glaze, which is what gives the surface its softness rather than a gloss.
Styling it
Muted glazes belong with other muted things. Beside bright ceramic they read as dirty; beside wood and linen they read as considered.
