The details

A lidded burner works differently from an open holder: the smoke leaves through the piercing in a slow column instead of drifting off the ember, which is why a lidded burner scents a room more evenly. Celadon is a glaze rather than a colour — fired thick, it pools darker in the throwing rings, and that shading is what tells you it is real.
