The details

Knotted by hand, which is why the tension varies slightly across the web and no two hang exactly alike. The cord is unbleached cotton — the colour is the fibre's own, not dyed — and it softens and drops a little in the first weeks as the knots settle.

Styling it

Hang it where there is some air movement and a light source to one side; the shadow it throws is half the object. It needs a clear wall — over a bed or between two windows rather than among frames.
